Frequently Asked Questions
What is kitchen refacing?
Kitchen refacing is a process where existing cabinets
are stripped down to the wooden framework. The framework is then
covered with laminate, and matching doors, drawer fronts and hardware
are installed. Adding a new sink, countertops and lighting will
complete your kitchen giving it a new look at half the cost
of a traditional remodeling job!
Does cabinet refacing last?
Yes! We have been in business for many years and
have many satisfied customers. We use only the highest quality materials,
and give a lifetime warranty on our lamination process and all our
other products.
How does the process work?
We offer free in-home consultations. We will bring
a selection of countertop and cabinet styles into your home and
help you choose colors and styles that will work well with the lighting
and style of your kitchen or bath.
Once you place an order with us, we will custom
build any cabinetry and countertops off site. We then install sinks,
backsplashes, countertops, cabinets and appliances to complete your
kitchen. Finally, we clean up the work site, and make sure everything
is functioning before we leave.
But our job doesn't end there. We'll follow up in
a few weeks to make sure everything is working properly and that
you're satisfied with the job.
How long does it take to complete a kitchen?
The average kitchen refacing job takes 4-5 days
to complete. We can give you an estimate for how long it will take
to complete your particular job at the initial consultation.
What should I expect while you're working on my
kitchen?
Kitchen Refacers takes every precaution to ensure
as little disruption to your life as possible.
We will turn off the plumbing in the work area for
1-2 days as we install your new sink and hook up your dishwasher.
You will still be able to use your stove, microwave and refrigerator
if you wish. However, we recommend avoiding this if possible because
your kitchen will be a construction site and may contain dust &
debris.
We will seal off doorways to prevent work dust &
debris from traveling to other areas of your house. When the project
is complete, we clean up and remove any remaining work debris.
As a homeowner, what do I need to do to prepare
for having my kitchen done?
You should empty all your cabinets and clear off
all countertops. Move these items to a safe location that's out
of the way of the work area.
Kitchen Refacers will take care of moving any large
appliances, and turn off plumbing and electricity as necessary.
How long does it take for the materials to come
in?
Generally, materials arrive within 4-6 weeks from
the date your order is placed.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes. We require a 50% deposit at the time your order
is placed. The balance will be due upon completion of the job.
What kind of warranty do you offer?
Our lamination process has a lifetime warranty.
All of our products are warrantied, but warranties vary by product.
Please ask us for more details on specific products.
